Alex Hunter MEng, MBA

Alex is an accomplished engineer and business professional with a dynamic passion for innovative solutions.

With over 13 years of experience in subsea and geotechnical engineering, he has led multidisciplinary teams across global projects in offshore wind, and oil and gas, delivering technical excellence and commercial success for clients from regional firms to global energy leaders.

He began his career at 2H Offshore in London in 2011, conducting strength and fatigue assessments for riser systems worldwide. Drawing on his civil engineering background, he introduced foundation services at 2H, leading design and installation support for major projects across the UAE, West Africa, Bahrain, and Qatar.

In 2019, Alex joined Acteon Geo-services (UTEC) as a regional engineering lead in Dubai, spearheading business development and technical tenders for the Middle East and Asia Pacific region whilst also advising senior management on business strategy. He delivered high-impact projects, including a cable burial risk assessment for a power cable replacement offshore Scotland and successfully mobilizing a vessel for a geotechnical campaign offshore Australia.

Returning to 2H in 2022, he managed complex offshore wind interfaces in France. With an MBA from Warwick, Alex blends technical depth with strategic insight to deliver value for Catalyst and its clients.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys time with family and friends, whether traveling, supporting Newcastle United, or following F1. Often found on the golf course or enjoying a lively board game night, his enthusiasm for connection and strategy fuels his drive to create impactful, sustainable solutions in engineering and beyond.
